Hi!

When the System Restore Points feature is enabled (you get the option to enable them the first time you run Akeeba Backup after installing/upgrading it), Akeeba Backup will try to take a backup of an extension before it is updated. Some extensions do not work well with this feature. In these cases you have two options:
1. Click the "Back to the Standard Installer" link on the installer page's footer, before selecting a package to install
2. Go to Extensions, Manage Plugins, find the "System - System Restore Points" plugin and disable it
as mentioned in our documentation.

In time.. in my sites.. i usual install akeeba as first or second extensio... because i really trust in your extension.. and its give me security to development

I recently bought a akeeba pro to use these restoration point and other issues... but i am having problems...

If you follow either of the two methods I mentioned above, System Restore Point will be disabled either temporarily (case a) or permanently (case b).

Now, regarding the redirection loop, this is a bug in the browser, not Akeeba Backup. The first time you install Akeeba Backup it will redirect you to that page so that you can configure it. Silly as it is, the modern browsers (Chrome and Firefox in particular) cache the redirection. The solution is embarrassingly simple: quit your browser, relaunch it and the redirection never happens again.

If this still doesn't help, please let me know and we'll arrange so that I can debug this issue directly on your site.

Nicholas...

I cleaned cache browser and site before post...
But i saw one strange thing. I installed the akeeba again with these steps :

1 - install by normal installation procedures
2 - joomla return successful instillation
3 - i saw akeeba itens menu and click there
4 - page load in looping but i saw the url and saw one strange ";" .. see below

http://www.totallnet.com.br/administrator/index.php?option=com_akeeba&view=postsetup

if a change amp;view to amp&view the installation is concluded...

Please... its my joomla ??

This is Joomla! in conjunction with your server. When Joomla! does the redirection, it transforms the ampersand to ampersand-amp-semicolon and your server doesn't really like it. You belong to the unlucky 3% with this particular problem :(

Besides that, now that Akeeba Backup is reinstalled, can you retry the installations of third party components which failed before?

Yes, I have an idea. Please go to your site's back-end. Click on Extensions. Click on Plugin Manager. Search for the "System - System Restore Points" plugin. If it's published, unpublish it. This will disable the System Restore Points feature. When you do that, this feature DOES NOT interfere with the installation of any other extension. Simply put, when the plugin is disabled, it doesn't load. When it doesn't load, the associate code never runs. When the associated code never runs, it can not interfere with the extensions installation.

OK, you have a serious problem with your server setup. I'd recommend trying transferring that site to a better server, e.g. CloudAccess.net, Rochen or iRedHost. Your server is VERY quirky and even the core Joomla! throws strange URLs. It's little wonder Akeeba Backup doesn't work very well on that server. Well, what can I say, I am only a developer, not a magician. When a server is really broken, I can't work around it :(

I said before.... the first ou second extension that i install in every site is akeeba .. first admin tools and second akeeba... we trust in akeeba extensions..
I installed admin tools and akeeba and several others extensions.. like acymailing, K2, Breezing forms, Nonumber suite, Widgetkit from Yootheme and no problem...
started from nothing to this problem...

I will make a fresh instalattion again ... and i return later..

Thanks in advance

Let's start with the basics (before trying to get SRP working):
- After installing, did you run the Configuration Wizard?
- Can you take a regular backup?
Now, to SRP:
- Click on back to standard installer, try installing an extension. Does that fail? If it does, the problem is with your Joomla! installation, not Akeeba Backup; clicking on back to standard installer DISABLES SRP for that component installation.
- Does the problem happen with ALL extensions you try to install or just a few of them? Which are the extensions you tried and which failed? Please note that not all extensions are compatible with SRP. This is not my fault. I have published developer documentation so that third party developers can make their extensions compatible with SRP. If they don't want to do that, I can't force them. If just a few extensions fail, ask their developers to make them compatible with SRP. It's so simple. As I said, I am not a magician, I am a developer. I won't magically modify other people's code. They have to do it themselves, based on the instruction I, as a developer, have already published.

Admin Tools
Akeeba Backup
and others..

Install and test... and after installed one of mine extension.. the problem started again... desinstalled .. and the problem went away... so these extension is my problem ..NOT AKEEBA .... all working fine now..except that extension....
