Description of my issue:

I have installed four 2.5.x Joomla sites. The So far three were fresh installs and one was an upgrade. The first two fresh installs went great. I installed Akeeba and after the "regular" 14 Joomla icons, there is an Akeeba icon that tells me if a backup is needed. When I did the upgrade for the one Joomla domain, the Akeeba icon was missing. I thought maybe it had something to do with the upgrade versus the fresh install. But, today I did another fresh install of Joomla and the Akeeba icon is missing. Does anyone know what makes that icon show up on the main page of the Joomla backend?

Thank you in advance,

Kim

Hi Kim,

Go to Extensions, Module Manager, select Administrator and search for the "Akeeba Backup Notification Module". Edit it. Make sure it is published in the icon position. Save it. Usually this edit & save suffices to make it show in the control panel of your site.
