OK, you took it too personally and so should I. Look. You wrote:
no docs to explain the difference between delete and delete file button
This implies that you searched the documentation and made sure there is no such thing. Ergo my response to read the documentation more closely. What did you want me to say after you strongly stated a completely wrong statement?
above is how it reads in the pdf. the doc is 130 some pages. plus the startup doc
Last time I checked, Acrobat Reader and every other PDF viewer I have used has an amazing feature called Search. That's how
I searched the documentation to find you the passage I pasted above. I opened both PDFs, used Search, typed "Delete Files" and ta-da! It took me 45 seconds.
it is not indexed
You do realise indexing is something required only for print publications. On electronic publications we have the exciting technology of Search to act as an index. Not to mention that every time I've used an index in a book, I seemed to be looking for the one page not in the index for the particular keyword I am looking for.
these words are button comands in tour componant and they are not in the collem nor are they bold or underlined or anything
I have no idea what a "collem" is. Anyway, regarding the typesetting, the words are marked up as buttons. The actual typesetting is performed using the default options of DocBook XSLT filters. If you know of any XML-FO and XSLT expert who could help me modify the typesetting generated for PDF files you are welcome to introduce them to me.
i did a search on your site for the words delete and delete file with no return
The search on this site is designed to favour searching tickets first, because the majority of searches are for real issues, not for a documentation term. I can't swap this around for extremely infrequent uses like yours, that would increase the support requests.
you did not make it easy to find
The only reason I am providing a PDF file is because it's searchable. I can't make it any easier to find, sorry.
what i dont think is fair is that you should be upset that i couldnt find it
Upset? Are you kidding me? I'm not upset. You said there were no documentation regarding what you were looking for and I merely told you that you should read our fine manual (that's how I always refer to the User's Guide + Quick Start Guide combo) more carefully. If I were upset I'd tell you "Don't lie, you just ought to RTFM" or something. I don't get it. What did you expect? A soap opera dialog in the style of "Dear user, I am deeply regretful that you were unable to find the information you were looking for seeking in the vast expanse of our documentation. If you would please excuse me for this suggestion, you might want to consult this documentation page where yours truly has already written what these buttons do since approximately four years ago. For your convenience please find attached the relevant passage". I won't do that. First, it's so hypocritical and passive-aggressive I want to puke. Second, I replied to you at 23:21 UTC, that's 1:21 a.m.
in the middle of the night my time.
I am sorry that you feel that way. Next time you ask a documentation question I will respond with nothing but a documentation link (even though I am sure that any reply would upset you) and most certainly I won't be replying outside of my normal working hours (7:30-15:00 GMT).
