Joomla! version: 2.5.1
PHP version: 5.2.17
MySQL version: 5.0.92 (I think)
Host: Rochen
Akeeba Backup version: 3.3.13

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue: I'm not sure this is the best place to ask this question, but would like to know the recommended filesize upload for Joomla 2.5.1. I'm finding answers all over the map from 6MB to 500MB.

I know that some of the latest Joomla upgrade files are upwards of 8MB, so should I request 10MB? What are the implications of setting this too high?

Right now I have upload_max_filesize = 2MB

I am unable to upload the larger extensions at the moment, but my host is willing to change the php.ini file for me. I would like to know what's recommended for Joomla 2.5.1.

Thanks!
Janis

There is no "right" and "wrong" answer. If you only use file uploads to upload extensions, about 2-3Mb is fine for uploading >95% of Joomla! extensions. If you have a video hosting site, obviously even 500Mb might be small. How long is a piece of string?

Thanks Nicholas! I guess 10Mb might be a happy medium for starters.
