Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? yes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version: (1.5.23)
PHP version: (5.3)
MySQL version: (unknown)
Host: (Linux Cpanel)
Akeeba Backup version: (3.3.13 Professional)

I have a number of Joomla sites under the same root directory. I only want to backup my site under the /New directory. I can go through and exclude all the other directories but it is a lot of work. I have not found the way to change the site root.

I want to modify the site root and than select only the database required for that directory.

Hello Bruce,

All you need to do is to install Akeeba Backup on the site inside the New directory and take a backup. The site root is calculated automatically by Joomla!. You should not try to backup a site from another site, e.g. do not try to backup the site in the New directory from an Akeeba Backup installation in the site located in your site's root.

Nicholas, thanks for your rapid reply. I built this site using a backup of my main site. I suspect I should have uninstalled Akebba and then do a reinstall on this Joomla site.

You can always try that. It should work, unless you have a broken server and Joomla! gets mislead about the location of the site's root.
