Hi,
I updated a post and plugins on my website (where WordPress was automatically updated to 6.4.1 the other day). After I'd done an AkeebaBackup of the updates, your plugin warned me it was 120 days since it was last updated ,and I should check for new releases.
I recalled your recent email about manually updating to 8.1.0 (thanks for the notification!), so I followed the instructions, downloaded the Pro version update, and used FileZilla to FTP copy and overwrite files and folders on the website.
I noticed two folders on the website that were not in the update: helpers and wpcli (screenshot attached). However, I didn't delete these because I couldn't see instructions to do this.
After the manual update, my website crashed with a fatal error (front and back end), and WordPress emailed an automated Technical Issue notification:
"Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.
In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Akeeba Backup Professional for WordPress."
Fortunately, I had the backup from before attempting the manual update, and I was able to restore the website (thanks again!).
My question is: should I have deleted helpers and wpcli before the manual update?
Regards, Robert
