For the manual update process that you ask us to do for the next release of Akeeba Backup for Wordpress, can we use the MyGuru bulk plugin installer for the same result across multiple sites?

I can only vouch for the manual update method I have tried and documented. I cannot vouch for any other method. This is not me being difficult, it's the nature of the problem in WordPress.
Anything that uses WordPress' plugins installer / updater will cause data loss, which is what we're trying to avoid. Since I don't know how the third party service works, I cannot tell you if it will cause data loss. If you want to try that at your own risk, do so with one site that you don't mind losing your backups and having to reconfigure backups for. After updating it, go to that site, and click on Akeeba Backup. If it asks you to run the Configuration Wizard, well, data loss has taken place and you have your answer.
