I got an email from wordpress about a plugin causing a fatal error.

The site looks fine and everything is working normally. However, every time I update the site, a message from wordpress appears at the bottom that a critical error occurred.

Need to note that IIRC, whenever I access akeeba to make a backup on all my sites, it goes straight to configuring the site again via the configuration wizard. Not sure if that has anything to with the fatal error but please check .

Log is here https://toduguam.com/akb-log.txt

Thank you.

TL;DR: WordPress changed its behaviour and started deleting the plugin's folder before applying the update, despite the fact we send it a flag telling it not to. Another bug (which was introduced in WordPress 6.3.0 and fixed in 6.3.2) would cause a PHP fatal error on update, further complicating any attempt to address this issue. You will need to do a manual update to Akeeba Backup 8.1.0.
