EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 10MiB, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

I am getting a critical error when executing a backup:

Call to undefined function Akeeba\Engine\Archiver\gzinflate()

Can you tell me what to do to resolve it?

Akeeba Staff

Hello,

please get in touch with your host and report them that the function gzinflate is not available. This happens either because the gzip PHP extension is not installed or the function has been disable.

In both cases, that's something that only your host can fix.
