EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 10MiB, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

We have been using akeeba backups to back up our sites automatically for some time now, except for a problem we had with the connection to google drive via cron jobs not working the way we were anticipating we did not have any other problem

Now for the first time, I see something unusual, the backup started, the server had extra space, and the cronjobs did connect with google dive and sent the smaller chunks but even though everything going the way they where suppose to the backup stop at part j35 with j33-j34 being created but j35 did not finish, and the backup failed

What can be the reason behind this problem and how do we avoid it in the future?

Most likely it's too large.

Please upload it somewhere and paste here the share link

Thank you for the log. Looking at it, it seems that Google Drive is complaining that an header is not correct:

Got uploadPart Exception 500: Invalid JSON data received: Failed to parse Content-Range header.

We do send  the correct Content-Range header, I suspect there could be a proxy in between your server and the outgoing connection that is performed to Google Drive. First of all I'd suggest you to update to the latest version of Akeeba Backup for WordPress and double check again. Nothing should change, but at least we will be looking at the same code.

If the error still happens, you have to talk with your host and report the issue, in the meantime you can disable Chunk uploads inside Post-Processing options, inside Profile configuration. That should do the trick.
