Good morning team,

I notice the back-up file of a site is too small I believe (90MB). The same site on a different test server (other hosting provider by the way) is 260MB.

Don't know what goes wrong. Could you please have a look?

Thanks!

Damiaan.

Hello,

can you please attach the backup log of the site that is "too small"?

Can you please upload it somewhere and paste here the share link?

I can't see anything strange in it. Are you sure there that the two sites are similar? Maybe one has more data in the uploads folder or there's some extra file in it.

If you're under Windows, you can use this tool to understand which folder has more stuff in it: https://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free?ca=1

Hi Davide, I will check again.

But according to "my simple space" plugin the size is:

Contents

wp-content: 145,47 MB
plugins: 116,81 MB
themes: 12,46 MB
uploads: 12,11 MB

Other WP Folders

wp-admin: 8,33 MB
wp-includes: 38,70 MB   So is it plausible that Akeeba compress this to 90MB?   To make sure I will do a restore of the back-up file also.

damnsharp

Hi Davide, I've tried a restore to a wampp local server and total files is 257MB so that's nice!

But I get a restore error when replacing info within the database.

Database error #1062 duplicate entry wp_page_for_privacy_policy

I attach several screenshots.

There's no need to restore the database, you can still try to compare the folders even without that step. You should get some tip to understand why they're so different.

That being said, looking at the error it seems you can safely ignore it (most likely some data was added while we were taking the backup). In the database restoration step, there are two options to ignore SQL errors. Please check those boxes and try again, it should successfully complete.

Great Davide, it's working the restore also to a wampp local server.

So all questions and problem solved!
