EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 10MiB, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Just applied my firs Akeeba Backup restore -- apparently successfully, as the front end of the site seems good. However, I seem to be locked out of the wp-admin area. When I try to log in with my admin user I get a "Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page." error.

Any ideas?

This sounds like you have a third party plugin which blocks direct access to wp-admin, probably expecting you to use a different URL. Since you're not using our Admin Tools Professional for WordPress I would assume this is most likely to be iTunes Security or WordFence; both are popular and have such a feature. You may have to disable these plugins and ask their developer what you need to do to reconfigure them after moving your site to a different URL. I know for example that WordFence requires deleting some cache files they create (they save a copy of their configuration as serialised data inside files, therefore this serialised data is not replaced on restoration).
