The version you are talking about refers to Akeeba Backup for Joomla. Akeeba Backup for WordPress 1.0.0 beta versions were first released in April 2014 and required PHP 5.3.04 or later. The current stable version of Akeeba Backup for WordPress still has the same minimum requirement (PHP 5.3.04 or later). Simply put we never published an Akeeba Backup for WordPress version which was compatible with PHP 5.2 as we had discontinued support for PHP 5.2 nearly 3 years before we published the first ever version of Akeeba Backup for WordPress.
