I have no security plugin (I hope), and have adjusted the execution times as read in another article here.
Some days ago it worked, now it stopped working again.

According to your log file the backup completed successfully, it's just the quotas not being applied. I believe I know what this is. Would you be interested in letting me install a development version of Akeeba Backup (which will be officially released as 1.1.0 stable next week) to verify the fix?

If the backup is complete (I had the impression,too) I can wait until the new version is officially relased next week.
It will be possible easily update in backend?

Yes, you can wait and yes, it will update easily through wp-admin by going to Akeeba Backup and clicking on the message notifying you about the update.
