Hi Nicholas

I paid for and downloaded com-akeeba-3.10.1-pro.  When I try to install it into Joomla 3.10.1 I get a blank screen.

I read your documentation and videos and saw the need for FOF30, so I downloaded and installed that successfully.

I still get a blank screen when I try to install Akeeba Backup pro.

Thanks for you help.

Regards

Carl

Please allow up to one business day (GMT+2 timezone) for me to log in to your site and debug this issue. When I'm done I will post back. Once the issue is fixed, you can revoke my access e.g. by changing the Super Administrator and FTP passwords.

In order for me to help you fast and accurately, please provide the information by copying the form below, paste it into your reply and fill in the information:

Finally, please do make sure that the FTP connection works and that logging in to it I have access to your site's files.

Hello Nicholas

I enjoyed an extended conversation with you many years ago.  (CapeInfo turned 25 years old last month. It was in the early days of Joomla though.)  It’s good to become your customer again.

I was diagnosed with lung cancer earlier this year.  The migration to Joomla 4 was delayed and there is now an error on the main site (https://capeinfo.com) mainly to do with JReviews.  I tried Akeeba Backup Pro on the main site without success so rather than fiddle there, I have opened a development domain (https://dev.capeinfo.com) which is a copy of the main site.  Access credentials are presented for that below.

I must prepare the site to be taken over by a Foundation which will grow its work and income.  They will fund my living costs for as long as needed and I will provide guidance where I can.  I can’t work for any long periods.  If you know of anyone who can migrate the site to Joomla 4, please let me know.  I don’t trust my accuracy any longer.  (I do have documentation for 3rd party extensions.)  Of course, I will pay a fee.

Thanks & kind regards

Carl

I just used Extensions, Manage, Install, Upload Package File to install version 8.3.3. It installed without any problem.

I believe the problem is that you were trying to install the wrong version. There is no such thing as "com_akeeba-3.10.1.zip". The version you needed to install on your site, as per our Compatibility page, is 8.3.3. Its file name is pkg_akeeba-8.3.3.zip. If whatever you were tying to install had a package name starting with com_ that would be a very old release from before 2014 which would absolutely not be installable on Joomla! 3.10 and/or any modern version of PHP as it predates all that by nearly a decade.

Regarding the question about migration, I have no idea to be honest. I did the upgrades of my sites on my own. I think it's best to ask on the Joomla Facebook group. There are a lot of people who can help you find who and what you are looking for.
