Description of my issue:

Hi all,

I tried to find something about this in the Akeeba Backup documentation, but since ANGIE is fairly new, there was nothing there about it.

It appears that when Firefox (and I'm not sure if other browsers do it) encounters the ANGIE password text box in the Akeeba Backup configuration, it is triggered to load the administrator's password in that block.

I try to remove it by backspacing or selecting the entry and CTRL-Xing it out, but after a save, it appears that a password is still there.

When I go to restore a backup locally, as I'm testing a 2.5.15 to 3.2.x upgrade, I get asked for a password as ANGIE is locked. Its not a problem, but I really don't want to password my backups at this time.

Is there a way, other than turning off password storage in Firefox, to keep the browser from being triggered in this way??

Thanks

Thank you for your very interesting report about the ANGIE password.

We have run into browsers injecting a password into ANGIE multiple times. I'm not sure that it is limited to Firefox. What I had not heard before is that the password sticks even if you take it out. That would support several users who swear there was no password during the backup but it is still requested during restore.

Please check your Backup Configuration screen to see if there is a default ANGIE password there. That is the other place that the password could be accidentally injected.

Since the changelog for 3.9.2 says this has been corrected, I'm closing the ticket.

But I'm going to open another one as the 'one click update' is not working for 3.9.2
