Nicholas,

I was looking through my WAF security exceptions and used the IP address lookup (thanks, btw!) to check an IP address. The results showed that it was from google and it was for an admin query string block. Should I be concerned that Google is being blocked from that URL? Don't want to hurt my google rankings any.

Leave it as it is (just make sure that GoogleBot's IP didn't get autobanned accidentally)! You don't want Google indexing the administrator area of your site. It would be the easiest way for a potential cracker to find out that you are using a Joomla! site.
