Hi

On one website (joomla 1.6.4) with the last admin tools version , I can only choose reinstall 1.7RC1
I want to update from 1.6.4 to 1.6.5 and not use the RC version of joomla.
Any ideas ?

thx

This should have been fixed in Admin Tools 2.1.3 and -of course- 2.1.4 released today. Make sure you have one of those versions.

If, after installing either of these versions, the problem persists, please go to Components, Admin Tools and click on the "Joomla! core Update Found" button. Then click on "Reload update information from server". It should now pick up the correct version. The reason you need this is that the update information is cached for 24 hours.

After hitting "Refresh update information" mine shows installed version 2.1.4, and latest 2.1.3 so there is something wrong.

For the Joomla core, I had updated to 1.7.0 RC1 from 1.6.5
and with today's release of 1.7 I wanted to update that from my admintools pro page, but it says "Your version 1.7.0" and "Latest version 1.6.5" so that is also wrong.

All the 1.7 betas and RC releases were marked as Joomla! 1.7.0 internally. This the version number Joomla! itself reports. The RC tag was only added to the "human readable" version string which can not be parsec by Admin Tools. This is not an Admin Tools bug, it's a quirk of how Joomla! works :( You can always use the "reinstall Joomla! 1.7.0" button to upgrade to the stable release. The same thing had happened with the 1.6.0 release and will also happen with the 1.8.0 release too.

Hi frdt,

The difference is that you hadn't upgraded your site to 1.7 RC1 yet, so you were still on 1.6.4. The refresh does work in that case, albeit it may take a couple of tries.

I removed Admin Tools' ability to upgrade from Joomla! 1.6.x to Joomla! 1.7.0. As I found out, Joomla! 1.7.0 stable includes some slight database changes. As written in our release announcement:

This version of Admin Tools reverts the change which allowed you to upgrade Joomla! 1.6 to Joomla! 1.7. This change was performed due to database changes in Joomla! 1.7.0 which can only be performed by using Joomla!'s integrated core upgrade feature. Please note that the Joomla!'s own upgrade may not work on some servers. You are advised to have a current, complete and tested backup of all your files and database contents.
