Description of my issue:

Hello,

Wonder if you can help.

To begin with, where did this post go to: www.akeebabackup.com/support/forum/topic/26131-illegal-key-characters-in-global-data.html

I paid for a forum subs just to look at this and got the 404 page.

I am using the same search tool as you have on your website and then going to the advanced search I get an error: Illegal key characters in global data nothing else on the page. That article above seemed like it answered it but it's not found. Anyone seen this before. I have community_acl, the normal simple search works fine.

Kind Regards, Mike.

Hi Mike,

That thread is located over here. The URL scheme of old threads had changed since our upgrade to NinjaBoard 1.1. Moreover, that thread was in the (now defunct) Admin Tools Core forum and I had to change that.

As you will see, the issue you are experiencing is not caused by Admin Tools but by a third-party plugin called "jHackGuard". You have to disable that plugin in order to stop receiving this error message.

Hi Nicholas,

Thank you so much, that worked. I must have installed it before looking into admintools. Will admintools cover the security protection that jHackguard provided?

Kind Regards, Mukesh.

Hi Mike!

You're welcome! I am glad I could help you solve that issue :)

Admin Tools Core does not include any security features. However, Admin Tools Professional will offer vastly superior protection to your site than jHackGuard. It's not a fair comparison, really. It's like comparing a bullet-proof vest with a piece of plywood :)

Hi Nicholas,

That is reassuring to me. Thank you again. I like your software products they just work. I'll post comments on the joomla extensions soon.

Cheers, Mike.
