I know this is probable very silly but where can I find the database prefix tool? I can find the ‘Repair & Optimise’ and the ‘Purge Sessions’ but ‘database prefix tool’ is nowhere to be seen.

Can someone point we in the right direction.
I have just installed Admin Tools Pro so must to on the latest addition.

In the Admin Tools Control Panel page. The button reads "Database table prefix editor".

it should be visable if you are indeed running anything after off memory AT Pro 1.1.2. Have you set a master password as yet and are logged through it? It sound like you may have installed the core version.

on another note you should speak with your host about upgrading to a newer version of mySql. v 4 is ancient.

Thanks for the advice but still cannot find it and have attached a screen shot of the Admin Tools. I installed the Core version first and then the Pro over the top – should I uninstall and try the reinstall the Pro version?

Ah, I just realized you have MySQL 4.1. This feature requires MySQL 5.x to be installed. Please ask your host to upgrade your MySQL version. The one they're using really is ancient!

exactly what i thought.

whats the bet a shared host will refuse to do so. I can recommend an great host, in fact by far the best, however a little exy, remember you get what you pay for.

Nico, it might be worth throwing a line in the manuals min req to specify 5.0 and above. Off memory i think it shows 4.1

i will have to contact the host but having asked before they are not to fast to help.

Could you have the button 'greyed' out if its not avalable?

Thank again for your help.

Providing grayed out buttons makes users ask why the buttons are grayed out. Missing buttons are usually going unnoticed by users. That's why I make the buttons just "disappear" :)

John,

My Sql 4.1 was released in 2004 (while my sql 5.0 in 2005).

Official support / end of life was almost 2 Years ago and it doesn't have the necessary triggers what ATP would use.

Its a very old product, at least within this industry. Either force your host to update (unlikely) or move hosts.

Personally i cannot believe some of these hosts. Its understandable that some sites need older versions and that fine, however an update was released 7 years ago FFS!!!
