Hi Nico,

Has anything drastically changed in the new AT 204 htaccess maker with regards to front end protection compared to the old AT 203.

The reason i ask is because we are having some issues with it, so much so that we needed to switch it off altogether. Everything seems to be breaking with the new AT204 using the old (203) exceptions.

Is everything fine with the new setup? Thanks in advance

I know. It has broken. 2.0.4 was a very rushed release due to Joomla! 1.6.2 and its backwards incompatible changes. It went out before I could do any serious QA. So, I will completely drop Joomla! 1.6 support from my products (it's not fun having those issues because Joomla! 1.6 is still an alpha-quality product) and focus on stability only on Joomla! 1.5. Expect a new Admin Tools release very soon.

seriously man, Shelve 1.6, its a massive PITA with endless issues, i would rather neck myself than even consider beta testing it ever again. Let alone production.

Front end protection i belive is probably even more important than the WAF features of admin tools. Both can be somewhat offset by well configured box and mod sec however why risk it. I pulled hair out trying to fix it today. I think it might have also broke some menu css on this site.

The joys, :(

Yeah, I can see that supporting Joomla! 1.6 has caused me a lot of very serious problems, so I'm going to discontinue it. I will only support Joomla! 1.5 and -if it's stable enough- Joomla! 1.8 when it's released. Joomla! 1.6 is a travesty; it's still an alpha product, it's marketed as stable, it gives false promises to developers, it sets unrealistic expectations to the user and we are all unhappy. So screw Joomla! 1.6, I am just going to make my products stable on the one and only stable Joomla! platform: 1.5.
