Thanks for a great component.
I have used it on several sites but have come up with a worrying trait, that I am hoping you can help me with.

I use the Super Administrator ID button to change the standard ID of 62 to something different, which works well. But what I have had on several websites is that someone (hacker) has been in and set up a super administrator using ID 62! It is not enabled, but cannot be removed unless I go and use PHPmyAdmin to delete it from the user table.

I haven't had this problem before so thought I would raise this issue here.

Many Thanks once again
Peter

Peter,

This is not a hacker. AT does this automatically as its pretty much impossible (without causing more issues than good) to completely reove id62 for joomla. If you deleting it form the tables, your going to have potential issues in the future, depending on what your running etc.

That is excellent news.

I just do not like seeing things I cannot explain on the system. Now I know it is to do with Admin Tools I am happy to leave well alone!

Thank you for such a quick reply.

thats understandable. Im sure nicholas can give you more detail however from my experience, thats exactly what happens. You should have never in fact seen id62 removed from the user manager. It should be their however you cannot enable or remove it. As i said, deleting from the tables, very bad idea.

Good luck with it mate

Indeed, it's not a hacker, it's how Admin Tools works - and it is documented, too. Do note that before you got the chance to change your Super Administrator ID the component did tell you what it was about to do and told you to read the documentation. Such prompts are there for a good reason. I am sure that after reading the documentation page I linked to you'll understand why that prompt is in place ;)

I am guilty as charged!

Thanks Nicholas for some excellent tools. Makes my life so much easier - even if I do not pay attention here and there!

No worries! I find myself guilty of not RTFM quite often, I just don't tell anyone ;)

ive no doubt, especially that 80 odd page well created beast.

anyone who may not be sure RTFM, Read the Fu$ki$g Manual, lol

slaes
actually at 58 pages and 27,000 words its in actual fact a few thousand more than a thesis i once did on something which made no fuc$$ng sense whatsoever. so RTFM :) is good advice

He he! The documentation can be daunting, but you needn't read it in one go (unless you're like me who, at the age of 13, read the entire 645 page MS-DOS manual in a single sitting). In all other cases you can Read The Fine Manual -notice how elegant "Fine" rings?- a few pages at a time, as you explore each option :)
