For some reason, I cant figure out how to post in the feature request forum so feel free to move this there :-)

I think a great feature would be to include some sort of support report inside of admin tools where users could easily gather server and extension information when reporting issues to forums.

Simply provide output on common needed things as a text you can copy or a txt file.

Things such as
Joomla version
PHP version
MySQL version
Components installed and their versions
Using .htaccess?
Versions of ioncube or zend for those who may need it
Or any other common things you see

This would cut down on time required on both ends with just a simple report. However, I think some of it would need to be selectable (turn on and off in the report) so you do not compromise too many versions for security reasons.

Just a thought when I was making a support post elsewhere. Who knows, just a suggestion :-)

What you're describing is what the JTS-post assistant does. Why not use that instead of me trying to reinvent the wheel?

There it is! I thought it was discontinued.

http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/jts/

Their page is blank and there is no download for it anymore. Half of the JoomlaCode pages have SQL query errors on them :-P

Although their version cant be run as an component :-(

Thank you

PS: Your next post is #10,000 Congratulations and thank you for the excellent products and support you provide to the community.

Yeah, JoomlaCode is giving us the fits from time to time. It's actually a good thing that it doesn't run as a component. It means that you can use it even if your site is completely FUBAR after, say, a bad restoration.

Thank you for your kind words! I can't believe I have already posted 10,000 times on the forum. Wow!
