I just upgraded my sites to AdminTool 2.0 and I have the "Auto-Ban Repeat Offender tool set to NO. Now, I can't get to the Front or the Bank End without the "You are a scammer, hacker or otherwise bad person" message. I can disable as the desk guide directs but then I'm vulnerable. How do I fix this?

At one point you triggered the protection and now has your IP auto-banned for the cool out period, by default 1 day. You can remove the ban yourself by using phpMyAdmin and purging (deleting all) the entries in the jos_admintools_ipautoban table.

This just happened to me but my IP is in the adminiplist, so why did it ban me if I am white listed?

The white list, black list and auto-ban IP list are three different, non related things. If you get auto-banned, just use phpMyAdmin to truncate (remove all rows of) your jos_admintools_ipautoban table. Do note that automatically banning you was the result of a bug in 2.0 causing this after a successful logout from the administrator section of your site. Just upgrade to 2.0.1 and the problem should go away.

Thanks Nicholas, actually why it happened to me was I closed my browser and then when I restarted it I was on a link that I guess was take as bad. I have become very good friends with the ipautoban table until I get out of the habit of not logging out...;)

2.0.1 now really allows you to log out without auto-banning - unless you close your browser with an administrator URL still open. In that case, once your fire up your browser again, if your Joomla! session has timed out, it will consider it an "Admin Query String" attack and start the auto-banning process.
