Hi,

I like being able to see the 'Joomla! is up to date'/or not icon in the admin icon area.

My question is can I make it so that the icon only shows up for super admins or named users?

Cheers,

Dave

PS - This also goes for akeeba backup (backups up to date icon) as well?

No, you can't. The icon is a Joomla! module. Joomla! is responsible for deciding who to display it to. Simply put, Joomla! doesn't give you this option.

No problem, thanks for the quick reply!

(Will 1.6 be able to do this?)

With Joomla! 1.6 it is possible thanks to multiple groups per user and custom view levels. Here's the deal:

1. Create a new user group
2. For each user you want to see the module, add him to the new group
3. Create a new View Level which only the new group can access and name it "Backup Notification"
4. Edit the Akeeba Backup Notification Module and set the view level to "Backup Notification"

...and done!
