I think i have made enough posts to be able to plug something which i think is abundently usefull to those guys who have a dedicated box with little to no ssh command/text editor knowledge. Anyway came across http://www.configserver.com/cp/cse.html

Its a file manager plugin which operates in whm, the same way file manager in cpanel operates. Obviously it provide direct access to core server files, ability to edit copy etc, be vary carefull.

what % of admin tools pro users do you think operate on dedicated / shared? If very little, i'll avoid posts like this in future :)

I think "abysmally small" is a good description :) In the fear of being called a hacker, I might even go as far as to suggest that what you're trying to suggest is a "root script", much like C99. These things are like mixing Red Bull with vodka; very strong and tasteful, but can also kill you when you least expect it. I don't think I would ever code something like that.

My suggestion: if you have bought a dedicated server, you MUST have full SSH access. If you don't, it's not a dedicated server, it's a glorified and overpriced VPS.

Look, its good for those who dont have ssh,vim etc skill sets. Yes they should, but heck not all will. Additionally lets face it, if your whm is compromised, your screwed in some ways anyway, with or without such scripts and probably should not be managing your own box/s.
