Admin Tools is already compatible with Joomla! 1.6, as you can see in its extensions.joomla.org page. Version 1.1.2 installs fine on Joomla! 1.6.0. You may also find a very updated version (still in development) in our
developer releases section.
Is Admin Tools still relevant? Tell me if Joomla! 1.6 has any of the following features: password protection of the administrator directory, database maintenance, integrated upgrade which
actually works (Joomla! 1.6's is not tested and breaks on hosts which don't support URL fopen wrappers), changing the database prefix, changing the administrator ID, off-line mode which doesn't allow a hacker to run blind SQL injection attacks, .htaccess Maker to protect your site against unknown threats, changing permissions on the fly for all files and directories without FTP, cleaning the temporary directory, changing the database collation, on-the-fly link replacement for migrating sites to new domains, IP white-/black-listing, bad words filtering, blocking visitors by country of origin, logging security exceptions and auto-banning IPs of repeat offenders, protection of the back-end login with a query parameter string, email notification on failed and successful administrator logins, SQL injection protection (that one was
denied from being included in Joomla! 1.6), malicious user agent blocking, CSRF/anti-spam protection for all public forms, remote file inclusion protection, direct file inclusion protection, customization of generator tag, disabling editing Super Administrator users with a password, GZip compression and PHP header customization, system template (tmpl=foo) prevention, core template (template=foo) prevention, Bad Behaviour integration and Project Honeypot integration. Of course it doesn't so, yes, Admin Tools Professional is more than relevant on Joomla! 1.6; it's
essential for site security.
