Hi Nic.

When users on our site try to renew or upgrade their memberships via Membership Pro they get the following error when attempting to submit payment:

0 array_merge_recursive(): Argument #1 must be of type array, true given

New subscriptions process properly. This error just started after using Membership Pro for 13 years. I asked Tuan for assistance and he suggested an issue with Admin Tools - stack trace attached.

I took a look at the settings for Admintools and found the following: A few days ago I enabled “Block common usernames” in the WAF config and only included Admin and Administrator in the blocked field. When I disabled the Block common usernames setting the ability to renew and upgrade subscriptions started working again.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Go to Configure WAF, Hardening Options.

Below "Block common usernames" you will see two options called "Usernames explicitly forbidden" and "Usernames explicitly allowed". Create one new entry in each one of this, with a gibberish username (something like wghufbvphgioqr is fine). Click on Save. Go back to the Hardening tab and remove the two gibberish entries. Click on Save again.

The idea here is to force Joomla's form handling to clear any invalid data in those two options, because that's where the problem came from.
