Last week I changed Password Protect Administrator

Password Hashing Algorithm

setting on a testing website

from APR-1

to Bcrypt

after reading release notes for latest release of Admin Tools.

One week later the setting in my Admin Tools screen was showing as APR-1.

I have just changed it back to Bcrypt - entering user credentials each time - and the setting still shows as APR-1.

The hosting provider confirmed they supported Bcrypt before I changed the Hashing Algorithm.

Question

Before I approach Hosting Provider Support, can you confirm that the setting should stick when I change it?

If YES then is this a a bug in Admin Tools.

If NOT then have you any idea what the cause might be?

Thank you for your continued support.

Ken :)

The page where you set the password does not read any information from the .htaccess or .htpasswd file, nor does it save any settings into the database. It will always display an empty form with the default values selected for all drop-downs and optional settings. You always start from scratch on that page.
