I have a problem using the link that diaplays when you havelocked yourself out.

The system doesn't send the email with the unlock link but my screen shows a warning 0 Class "PHPMailer\PHPMailer\PHPMailer" not found

So it seems that it can't send the email....

When I try the second the 2nd option for unlocking (rename the main.php file in plugins/system/admintools/admintools) the main.php file is not there. To be more precise the subfolder admintools isn't there either.

Can you help me?

(A screenprint of FileZilla is enclosed)

The class not found error comes from Joomla and it tells you that some of its core files are missing, namely those needed to send emails.

As for unblocking yourself, kindly note that the main.php method was applicable on Joomla! 3. Since August 2021 and Admin Tools 7.0 for Joomla! 4.0 this has changed. Please read the updated documentation here: https://www.akeeba.com/documentation/admin-tools-joomla/atwafissues.html

Thank you Nicholas.

I re-installed some backups and did some updates and now its working.

Just one thing: You write that renaming main.php is only for J3 but it is also in the transcript for the J4&J5 video:

.... I'm going to use FileZilla.

Once you've connected to your website, go to the plugins folder then select system, and admintools, and admintools again.

Here you will find a file called main.php you should rename this to main dash disable dot php....

Best regards,

Geert

That video has not been updated for Joomla! 4. Brian is currently not available for this kind of work. I will try to shoot a new video myself. I did not have the right equipment and quiet environment yet.
