I tried to update Admin Tools and got this message: "We detected that your latest request may have been part of suspicious activity and has been blocked. If you believe you are getting this message in error please let us know through our site's contact form."
I can't access the back end of my site. I tried to temporarily disable Admin Tools but there is no main.php file in the plugins>system>admintools folder to rename. Nor could I find the System-AdminTools in the extensions table in the database.
Please help

I temporarily deleted the admintools folder in plugins>system> to get the site back up. I disabled all the admintools extension for now as well. I will reinstall admin tools. Should I uninstall the admintools package and them install admin tools?

There has been no main.php in three years. For Admin Tools 7 (Joomla 4 and later versions) see https://www.akeeba.com/documentation/admin-tools-joomla/web-application-firewall.html#help-locked-out for brief instructions, or https://www.akeeba.com/documentation/admin-tools-joomla/atwafissues.html for the more detailed instructions.

I cannot answer your question without knowing why you got blocked. Go to your site's backend, Components, Admin Tools for Joomla!, Web Application Firewall, Blocked Requests Log. Find your IP address and tell me the Target URL and Reason listed there.

I added back the admintools folder to the plugins folder. In the services folder there were 2 files, provider.php and provider-disabled.php. I deleted the provider.php and enabled the other admin tools extensions I had disabled. I went to Components, Admin Tools for Joomla!, Web Application Firewall, Blocked Requests Log and searched for my IP and it wasn't there.

Restore the provider.php file.

If that problem happens again, tell me if you see your IP.

If not, tell me if all IPs look the same. There's a reason I am asking.

Most of them in the past month are 3 IP addresses.

when I added back the provider.php I got the message:We detected that your latest request may have been part of suspicious activity and has been blocked. If you believe you are getting this message in error please let us know through our site's contact form.

I removed it again.

Now I clicked on the button Unblock My IP and then added back provider.php. It seems to be working now.

I could not find my IP in any of the other blocked IP sections though.
