Hello Nicholas,

I am trying to integrate the following 2 lines into the .htaccess file via the .htaccess Maker at the Custom .htaccess rules / Custom .htaccess rules at the top of the file level:
php_value upload_max_filesize 32M
php_value post_max_size 48M
I have a 500 error and the admin and the site are no longer accessible.

I'm trying this because every time I try to upload a file via the admin, I get a message that it's too big and I have to change the size.
The host, IONOS, does not allow this on a shared server and refers me to the .htaccess file.

Am I in the wrong place?
Or does Admin Tools not allow it?

Thank you for your feedback.

These lines will only work if PHP is running as an Apache module which is not how things are done in any modern host, including IONOS. Their support should have known to tell you that.

So, it's not anything to do with Admin Tools, it's simply the fact that the code they told you to add to your .htaccess file does not work with their hosting environment.

Ask them to escalate your ticket to someone who actually understands their infrastructure and they will tell you how to use a .user.ini file in your site's root to change the upload limits.
