Hello, I am receiving a 403 error on my site and I am unable to unblock myself via the FTP since the main.php file is non existent. I navigated to /system/admintools but there is not another admintools folder but there is a admintools.xml there. Please help I am in dire need.

You are reading the wrong troubleshooting page (for Joomla! 3). Since you have Joomla! 4 you need to read https://www.akeeba.com/documentation/admin-tools-joomla/atwafissues.html As you can see in Joomla! 4, due to the different way plugins are organised, you need to rename the file plugins/system/admintools/services/provider.php.

thank you so much! I hope the logs can tell me why this happened. It seems to be frequent unfortunately.

The blocked requests log will definitely tell you why. Usually it's something simple, e.g. the session expiring triggering the admin secret URL parameter protection.
