We just migrated from Joomla 3 to 4 and we were not using Admin Tools on Joomla 3. It had been uninstalled at some point on Joomla 3 but apparently not correctly. Now on Joomla 4 it is showing up in the Extensions - Update. When I try to uninstall the package I get this error:
You need Joomla! 4.0.999 or earlier to install this component
Extension Uninstall: Custom install routine failure.Error uninstalling package.
Can you let me know how to uninstall this?
Delete the following folders – some may not be present anymore:
Now uninstall the Admin Tools package extension (NOT the component!), as well as the FOF 3.x, FOF 4.x, and FEF files extensions if they are still present.

Thank you, that worked. I am still seeing the Admintools component in the Manage Extensions area, as well as FOF Library. I was not able to uninstall the component and I did not try to uninstall the FOF Library. Is there a way to manually remove the component? Can I safely remove the FOF Library?
Don't uninstall the component.
Do uninstall FOF.
Then install the latest Admin Tools 7.x version, twice in a row, without uninstalling it before or in between.
