#37964 Global configuration settings does not work

Hello

My site is uzbaby.uz

I want to add a meta description via Global Configuration-Site-Site Meta Description

And then if I click on "save and close" or "save" button it shows me a warning: 

 

The form cannot be submitted as it's missing required data.
Please correct the marked fields and try again.

 

But there is no marked field in the global configuration tabs.

What is wrong? Do I have to set some remissions?

 

I need to add some meta description and keywords to my site.

This has nothing to do with our software. In fact, I know what your issue is: a change in the Global Configuration which happened sometime around the Joomla 4.1 release.

Normally, we do not provide generic Joomla support and I would tell you to ask this question at the Joomla forum.

However, I have been at the form and seen that there are 3–4 people who know nothing, reply to everything and their replies range from asinine to actively harmful. By the time someone who actually knows what they are talking about replies it's too late and their reply goes unnoticed. Sigh.

So let me tell you the dead simple fix for this issue.

Go to Global Configuration.

Click on the Logging tab.

In the Log Priorities select All.

Set Log Category Mode to Include.

Click on Save & Close.

That's it.

I thought maybe I should set some permissions in the Akeeba extension..

 

but unfortunately, even if I made my logging settings as you advice it does not work. And it still shows:

Check the other tabs, there is a setting you have forgotten to set up. I can't tell you which one as the message doesn't tell me either.

I screened every tab.

Please can you help with them?

I named them as the tabs' name

I checked all tabs: site, server, system, logging, text filters, permissions and there is no empty place that I could fill.

Look, I am nearly 42 years old and my eyesight has never been great. A super downscaled screenshot where I cannot read anything and which becomes pixelated to oblivion if I try to zoom in does not help either.

Besides, as I told you, this is not a problem with our software. The error you get tells you that something on that page is not filled out and needs to be filled out. I disagree with the fact that it does not tell you which field is not filled in but this is not my code; it's core Joomla and I have not touched it. The best I can do is to let the Joomla Experience Team know about this problem so they can improve it and tell you that you can ask for help in the meantime in the Joomla forum. They will tell you the same thing —after having you jump through unnecessary hoops— and you'll still be looking for a field which does not look filled in. Do remember that Text Fields are set up per user group. Maybe a user group is missing something? Dunno.

I can also tell you that your text filtering is most definitely wrong. You have a default list for some groups and then in Filter Tags you have put something which is not a list of HTML tag names. I have no idea what you are doing there but this won't work.

You also never sent a screenshot of half of the System tab. Maybe you are trying to set up the mail for the site but have not entered everything necessary? I don't know.

Either way, this is not a support ticket pertaining to our software so all I can do now is close it.
