Hi there,

I've just upgraded a site from Joomla 3 to 4, a simple one pager and since updating, the PHP File Scanner doesn't generate a report when run via Cron, and consequently I think sends no email with the results.

I have Cron set to email me when it rungs and I'm receiving the email letting me know that's happened, but no report email from Admin Tools itself.

I've attached a screenshot showing the origin file scan run from the control panel which generated a report, but the subsequent one's via Cron have not.

I've compared the File Scanner settings with a working site on J3 and they seem identical.

Any ideas?

Hello,

Joomla 4 now has a different way to trigger scheduled tasks, you'll have to update your CRON settings. Please take a look at this page of the docs: https://www.akeeba.com/documentation/admin-tools-joomla/php-file-scanner-cron.html

Thanks for the quick reply.

Sorry, I should have been clearer that the J4 website was a new install so not an "update" as such, and my cron is already set as:

/usr/local/bin/php /home/mydomain/public_html/cli/joomla.php admintools:scan

Does that look correct to you?

Just to double check ,is Admin Tools console plugin enabled?

Hi Davide,

Yes the console plugin is published.

Since lodging the ticket though, I have updated from Joomla 4.2.3 to 4.2.4 and also updated PHP from 7.4 to 8.0 and now the report is being generated properly in the File Scanner area - see attached.

It's still not sending an email report but I'm going to check the mail setup first to make sure that side of things is working properly.
