HI

Great piece of software, blocking all sorts of nefarious individuals, still learning. One question, my subdomain, photo.russbo.com, is being blocked by the .htaccess file that your software created. (I also have not gotten a new certificate for that subdomain, but, my subdomain, forum.russbo.com is showing even without a new security certificate). Can you please explain why one subdomain is showing and one is being blocked?? is there anything I can add to the .htaccess that you have written to allow this subdomain photo.russbo.com to show without destroying your security?

Thanks. Videos are a help, but more documentation / videos to explain all of what your security software does wouild be helpful to us more computer illiterate types.

Appreciate it, rich.

Hello,

usually it depends by the structure of your site and where the folder holding the subdomain lives, so there isn't a fixed solution for every customer. As general rule, you can try to add the folder name in the field "Allow direct access, including .php files, to these directories" and regenerate the .htaccess file.

Usually that fixes the problem.

HI Davide

Thanks for the reply, added "photo" into the htaccess maker, doesn't help. Still can't access that part of the site.

Also, just upgraded vbulletin on the site (forum.russbo.com), and it seems to have not went well. lost access to administrator area. Not sure if your software is doing this. How do I turn it off without altering anything (so I can turn it back on later)?  I never have any issues upgrading vbulletin into forum.russbo.com . Has always upgraded easily for years...

Hi Davide

OK, I resolved everything.

I uninstalled Admin tools just to make sure it wasn't causing "interference".  It wasn't. My issues had to do with the forum not loading because Google Chrome would not load an "insecure site". Apparently I have certificate issues, I think. (getting that resolved)

As for photo.russbo.com, I think the .htaccess file got hacked, and I don't know what to put in its place. So, again, not Akeeba related. Sorry to bother you. I'm assuming Akeeba won't block this subdomain when I get it fixed, just as it didn't block the forum subdomain.

But I will ask one question, is it better to leave Admin Tools out of the Joomla site while I upgrade to Joomla 4.x? (and then install Admin Tools 4?)

Thanks for all of your help

Good, thank you for the feedback!

Regarding the upgrade to Joomla 4, Admin Tools latest version for Joomla 3 has a minimum support for Joomla 4, too. This means that you can upgrade to Joomla 4, then automatic updates kick in (or you can manually do that) and the new version of Admin Tools for Joomla 4 will be installed.
