I am trying to upload my backup via Webdav to our local Nextcloud server. The information in the configuration is correct as I can connect via webdav using it no issues with an archive size of 5mb but it still always fails to upload coming from akeeba. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Hello,

looking at the log file, the remote server doesn't tell us what it happened, we simply get an empty error message. I can see you're using a part size of 10Mb, what happens if you lower to 5Mb?

I suspect the remote server is enforcing a limit on the files that can be uploaded.

So far I have tried all the way down to 1Mb, the upload gets to chunk 3 and fails. Really our goal here is to just have a non local backup of the site, I was trying webdav first but it may not work due to the nextcloud server we are using is actually running on the same Proxmox box as this site. Is there a way to get a network drive to work as the backup location? I didn't see an option for it but I am not familiar with the post-processing section of akeeba.

Ok, before going down that path, let me ask a question first: using another cloud provider is an option? Usually Dropbox and Amazon S3 are reasonably cheap and they are pretty reliable.

If that's possible, I'd strongly suggest to go that route, it will make your life easier.

If that's not possible, we can start troubleshooting about it.

We actually self host a nextcloud server ourselves so it is no cost except to maintain the box itself. I am not even sure it will work because we have had issues getting some servers to talk well through our VPN network as well so I don't know if it is even anything to do with akeeba and more with out network setup. I will give some more info below on some other things I have tried but I think the nextcloud Webdav is the easier solution to setup.

We aren't set on one specific way to do this either as we also have an onsite NFS and offsite NFS that are all connected via a vpn. I just didn't see anyway to use the NFS storage super easily through akeeba.

I have also just recently tried mounting the NFS to the Site machine and changing the default storage of the backup profile but it didn't like going into the /mnt and instead just defaults back to Default_Output.

If you mount a NFS disk, you should double check the permissions/ownership. Since Akeeba Backup can not write there, it reverts to the default output.

Regarding WebDav, there's a standard protocol, but sometimes systems are using a different "dialect", so transfer might fail.
