This is a known issue. This has to do with the way the database page in Joomla works. It goes through all of the update SQL files sequentially. If version X updates the schema of table and version X+1 drops that table because it's no longer necessary Joomla reports an error with the intentionally removed table.

Essentially and against its own documentation, Joomla requires developers to retroactively modify their database update scripts. There are ways around that but they result in the Database page not picking up the changes, meaning it's unable to fix a broken database table. As I've written many time in the past, Joomla's extension installation is subpar and unfit for purpose. Several people were telling me that I only say that because I have mown framework. Well, fine. Here is me trying to use Joomla's subpar features. Here is the proof that even on a very simple case, dropping a table, Joomla trips over its own feet.

In any case, this will be fixed by retroactively changing the update SQL files in a new release scheduled for later today.
