When I look in my 'Updates' list, I see an update for FOF 3.0 Stable.
But when I try to apply the update I get an error message
What do I do?
Everybody will be able to see its contents. Do not include usernames, passwords or any other sensitive information.

that's a bit strange. Can you please try to perform the update manually, by downloading from here and uploading as a regular extension? https://www.akeeba.com/download/fof3/3-8-1.html
