Hello,

I create a new user with super user permissions from users management. Admin Tools constantly disables this user and I get the following message:

"We would like to notify you that we detected the suspicious addition of one or more Super User accounts to your site... These new Super User accounts do not seem to have been created through the regular means, i.e. Joomla's “Users” page. Therefore they have been blocked."

I have enabled the option "Monitor Super User accounts". But, as a super user I should be able to create other super users.

I have tried deleting the user and re-creating it, but Admin Tools blocks the user. Why?

Make sure that you are trying to create a new Super User from the backend Users page in Joomla. That's the only supported path for creating new Super Users when you have the Monitor Super Users feature enabled.

If it's gotten stuck disable the feature, save, log out of your administrator area, log back in and re-enable this feature. This causes Admin Tools to purge its cache of Super Users and replace it with the currently enabled Super Users. Then you can create Super Users through the backend Users page in Joomla.

It's also possible that you have a third party plugin which tinkers with the User Groups assigned to the users you are creating. If the list of user groups you are submitting when saving the new user form in Joomla's backend is different than the list of user groups being applied to the user being saved and one of these groups has Super User privileges it will indeed cause Admin Tools to complain. This is a sane precaution; when the list of user groups is modified without you knowing it there's a good chance that something fishy is going on.
