Hey!
I've built a new, empty Joomla!-website under a subdirectory-structure like
/root/beta/subdir_1/subdir_2
, installed and configured Akeeba's Backup, Admin Tools and LoginGuard and made a backup.
This very backup is the one I want to use in order to restore this (empty) website into another subdirectory on the same server.
I developed the site further until I reached the point I wanted to go further with the above backup into another subdirectory on the same server.
So I've created the new subdirectory like:
/root/beta/subdir_3/subdir_4
I created then a new database, I deleted the whole old website (subdir_1/subdir_2) and then transferred the backup and kickstart.php into the /root/beta/subdir_3/subdir_4.
The restore worked flawlessly, I could see the front-page of the website, but in the moment I tried to reach the backend with the secret URL, AFTER successfully input of the user-name and password of the password protected administrator I've got an internal error.
So I started searching.
Changing the .htaccess into htaccess.bak (like suggested in http://akee.ba/500htaccess) didn't work.
I didn't know further, so I repeated the whole:
- I deleted the whole subdirectories
- created a new database
and restored again into /root/beta/subdir_3/subdir_4... only to get the 500 internal error again!
Fortunatelly enough I've discovered this question
https://www.akeeba.com/support/admin-tools/Ticket/24951:500-internal-error-after-installing-admin-tools.html
where you suggested additionally to rename also the .htaccess from the administrator-folder.
THAT did the trick, the normal login appeared, after this the LoginGuard and now I'm in!
Question 1: I don't want this one more time! What should I do, now that I'm logged in into the back-end as a Super User, in order to avoid something like this again?
Question 2: Why on earth happens something like this? The subdirectories were empty, the databases were new and as I made my gold-backup :-) the former Joomla!-installation was ok.
Thanks!
Regards,
Vlad
