Hi Nick

Just after a bit of help

Latest site I have gone live with is buengineering.co.uk

Hosted on Guru.co.uk shared hosting

 

I keep getting a repeating problem - every time I try and log in to administrator it won't go to login page but just loads normal site until I get the spammer message from Admin Tools

 

When I rename main.php I can then get the admin login page up and login

 

Just not getting this with other sites I have so far on a mix of Siteground and Guru.co.uk hosting

Any ideas what would be the issue?

Hello,

most likely you have enabled the feature Administrator secret URL parameter, but you forgot to write down the secret word. Please disable Admin Tools system plugin, get inside Configure WAF page and change (or delete) the secret parameter. 

After that you should be able to login as usual.

Out of interest i don't remember enabling this so is it set on install of admin tools?

 

I have set it for other sites I use but hadn't knowingly done it for this yet

It gets automatically enabled when you run the Quickstart Wizard; if you don't want to enable it, simply blank it out during the Quickstart.
