Enable 404 Shield : YES

I have enabled "404 shield", but I can't get it to work.

When trying to access some "/wp-admin.php" for testing purpose, the message "Not found" display on a whole blank page, but nothing is logged in the "Blocked Request Log".

I use sh404SEF to log my 404 errors and then correct or redirect some of them. I think this extension conflicts with the "404 Shield" feature of Admin Tools Pro. When sh404SEF is disabled, "404 shield" logs are correctly logged. I don't know if there's a way to use both at the same time? Probably not. For the moment, I have disabled the "404 shield" feature. I observe that sh404SEF does not register a 404 error for urls containing something like "wp-admin.php" or "wp-admin" (just redirects me to a blank page displaying "Not found"), but when I try "wpadmin" a redirection occurs to the sh404SEF error page and sh404SEF records a 404.

Good to know: there is a "URL blocking" feature in sh404SEF. I had never paid attention to that!

With default URLs blocked listed below:
wp-{*}.php{*}
wp-admin{*}
wp-content{*}
wp-includes{*}
wp-login{*}
wp-json{*}

When disabled, those URL are redirected to the sh404SEF error page and possibly logged by sh404SEF (if "Log 404 errors" is enabled).

sh404SEF takes precedence over Admin Tools 404 Shield feature.

Hello,

that's the expected behavior. Admin Tools will block the request only if it reaches the point where Joomla raises a 404 error page. Since it gets intercepts before, Admin Tools doesn't kick in.

Yes, that's what I ended up understanding. Have to learn to live with it (I love so much the protection that Admin Tools Pro gives me!).
