Hello Team,

I am writing after doing a lot of study on the site I have a problem with. The site throws Error 500 every time I login to the Admin Area. It loads up fine if I refresh the page. The global configuration cannot be saved at all as it throws blank page/error 500.

After checking all the plugins one by one each very carefully, I have realized that the behavior happens only when the Admin Tools are running.

I have followed the steps outlined in this post to ensure the Admin Tools are fully disabled and noticed that the error does not appear and he Global Configuration is also getting saved without issues.

To avoid any mishaps on the live site which can be visited by using this URL, I created a clone of the same site on a spare domain I was holding which can be seen on this URL.

I humbly request my lovely team to help me in his regard to solve this problem. Once I have a concrete solution, I will implement it on the live site.

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Best Regards,

Syed H

You need to disable the Monitor Global Configuration feature in Admin Tools, Web Application Firewall, Configure WAF, Hardening Options tab. Please read the documentation for this feature.

What throws a 500 error? Please tell me the exact steps you are following and attach a screenshot of the error messages.

That 500 error seems to be unrelated to Admin Tools. If it was related you'd never be able to access your site until you removed your .htaccess or renamed main.php in Admin Tools' system plugin. The fact that you get a 500 error on every request but reloading the page works tells me that you have a server issue.

If that's your local server and you're using XAMPP on Windows what you are experiencing is normal. By "normal" I mean that XAMPP has a known bad configuration which causes random 500 errors. Last time I checked they were using the PHP non thread safe version of the PHP Apache module which causes Apache to crash when a subsequent request is handled by a server thread that had already handled a PHP request before.
