I am having trouble uploading a website created by Nicepage.  It appears that Joomla (with Akeeba Admin Tools installed) might be preventing me from installing the menus and pages to Joomla using the Nicepage app plugin.

What is the best way to disable Akeeba Admin tools without uninstalling it so that I can try again uploading Nicepage's webpages using their Joomla Nicepage app?

What files do I need to disable?

There are two steps to disabling Admin Tools:

  1. Disable the System - Admin Tools plugin under Extensions, Plugins
  2. Swap out your .htaccess file with htaccess.txt in the root of your site.  The htaccess.txt file is shipped with Joomla! and is a plain file with no security enhancements.
