I have installed this version (upgraded/updated) on two sites now and each time it just shows "error" text in red, it installs ok or appears to and upgrades to the latest version.

But just error on install warning

This is nothing to worry about. There's a chicken and egg issue during installation. Joomla loads the Admin Tools system plugin before it starts installing the new version. Since there are some major changes under the hood this causes the very end of the process to throw an error -- but the extension is already installed. If unsure just install it a second time without uninstalling it before and you'll see that the installation does not complain except telling you that your FOF version is already the same or newer -- which is expected.
