Hi, one some of my sites (www.brainy.nl) I am using the extention JSN PowerAdmin and JSN ImageShow.

For several weeks these extentions give a error when trying to update;
Warning
Update: Could not open update site #135 "JSN Extension Framework Updates", URL: https://www.joomlashine.com/versioning/extensions/jsnframework.xml
Update: Could not open update site #163 "imageshow", URL: http://www.joomlashine.com/versioning/extensions/com_imageshow.xml
Update: Could not open update site #170 "poweradmin", URL: http://www.joomlashine.com/versioning/extensions/com_poweradmin.xml

Failed to contact versioning server

I talked several times to the support desk of JSN (www.joomlashine.com) and posted a bug report.

They looked at my website and now they say 'akeeba tools' is blocking the update?!?!

Well I don't believe but is there a way to test without uninstalling Akeeba or how can I find what path to extention to allow?

Shure I will stop using this extention, but for now until I change all the websites I need a solution.

Best regards, Hein

Hein,

There are two parts to Admin Tools, WAF and .htaccess. The WAF part is easy to disable, just go to Extensions and Plugins and disable the System - Admin Tools plugin.

To disable the .htaccess file, you need to rename .htaccess in the root of your site, then rename htaccess.txt to .htaccess. The htaccess.txt file is the default file that Joomla! ships with the CMS.

Hi Dale, thanks for the fast answer. The .htaccess doesn't do the job, I already tried that.
Disabling the WAF via the plugin I also tried, but I get an 403 error and I don't know how to cover that.

I always forget to tell folks that. Go to Web Application Firewall, Configure WAF, on the first tab, set "Defend against plugin deactivation" to No. That will allow you to disable the plugin.

Okay, than I know in future.

Did the test, as I thought Akeeba wasn't the problem... hoped somehow it was because you always fix the problems :)

I must get rid of that extention...

Thanks!
