After installing the admin tools, i click in the message to run the first basic setup but this kills the website, now when i visit the link the page don't load, instead of that now donwload an empty archive.

I already change the .htaccess and try to disable the admin-tools by rename the archive main and delete the folder in plugins but this don't chage anything, please help!

After reading a lot and searching in the Internet for possible solutions I could not really get anything, but I casually try to open the website in Firefox and this browser alerts me with a popup about the file to download and mentions the protocol "application / x-httpd-php", I started researching the subject and there is a lot of information about it, in a slightly recent post I found the solution, I just had to change the PHP version from 7.2 to 7.1 and strangely that caused the website to load and work again.

Now I will wait for see if this happens again with a new installation of the new version of admintools.

Hello,

this happens because your site requires some .htaccess directives to run properly. If you manually add those change to the .htaccess file (by editing the file or switching the PHP version), those changes will be lost when you run the Htaccess Maker.
Since your site is now currently running fine, I'd suggest to take a look at the contents of your site. There should be a line with a directive like "AddHandler" or something like that.
Please copy that line inside Htaccess Maker field Custom .htaccess rules at the top of the file, then save and regenerate your .htaccess. In this way you should have a running website and being protected by Admin Tools Htaccess Maker.

PS I'd strongly suggest you to download your currently working .htaccess file, just in case you have to re-apply it.
