Hi there,

After making the .htaccess maker by default configuration i cannot download in the frontend pdf files (and maybe more extensions) anymore. If i used my old .htaccees file it works fine.
I cannot findout where to configure that or maybe which lines in the .htacces i have to mark with # to put them off. I tried a lot of them, but it does not work.
Which setting i have to make?
Please can you help me? Thanks in forward.
Best regards,
Grafiek

You would need pdf as an allowed file type in the file types list. Note that pdf, Pdf and PDF are usually three different types of files.

Several versions back Admin Tools tightened up on where files can be located. The current version will only allow files from the /images or /media folders. This is where Joomla! says these files should be stored.

If the files are stored in another place, you need to add an exception for that particular file or for the entire folder in order for the file to be accessible.

Hi Dale,

Yes, now its working again! I placed the special map name at the exeption list.
As the most of the times, the solution is simpel:-)
Thanks a lot!

One more little question.
The new .htaccess file is named '.htaccess.admintools' is that okay for all the time or have i rename it again to '.htaccess' and replace instead of the old file?
Thanks in forward.

Only the .htaccess file does anything. The .htaccess.admintools file is a backup file. When you added the exception and generated the new .htaccess file, it renamed .htaccess to .htaccess.admintools, then created a new .htaccess file.
